Community partnerships are important to Foundation 2 as they allow us to strengthen our impact and make positive things happen for people in our community.  Foundation 2 collaborates with a variety of community partners to provide, crisis counseling, suicide assessments and follow-up services to best meet the needs of the community.  Emily Blomme, Foundation 2’s Executive Director, had the opportunity to present at the national American Association of Suicidology Conference with Barb Gay, ASAC’s Executive Director at the end of April.

They spoke about a new collaboration in which ASAC screens their patients for mental health concerns and suicide risk using a short assessment.  Patients with a suicide risk are immediately referred with the clients’ consent to a Foundation 2’s Crisis Counselor for an in-depth assessment and safety planning.  This coordinated treatment allows clients to connect with counselors working in their area of expertise without any additional barriers to access services.

Emily Blomme shared, “ASAC and Foundation 2 have a long history of partnership and I am pleased to continue that through this important project.  Providing immediate support to those in crisis through community partnership helps share our expertise with other providers and increases access to services for those that need it most.”
