DESCRIPTION:Join the Cedar Rapids Downtown Rotary Club on June 10 at Hunter’s Ridge Golf Course for a benefit tournament – all proceeds will benefit Foundation 2 Crisis Services’ mission. \nRegister now \n\nThis Downtown Rotary-sponsored event is a fundraiser for a local nonprofit organization. Each year\, the recipient of the funds raised is voted on by the membership of the club and will assist in planning and day-of-event activities. The golf outing will be a four-person\, best-shot tournament with dinner and awards following play. The Rotary Club of Cedar Rapids (Downtown Rotary) is proud to support area organizations that are doing incredible work. \nThis year’s winning nonprofit is Foundation 2 Crisis Services!  Proceeds from the event will be used to support operating costs at their Emergency Youth Shelter. The Emergency Youth Shelter is intended to support run away\, homeless\, and human-trafficked youth. They provide the only emergency youth shelter east of Ames in the state of Iowa making it a critical service in our area. The facility is coed and supports up to 17 youth at a time. Annually\, the shelter serves 150 youth.  All net funds raised from registrations and donations to the outing will go directly towards funding Foundation 2’s services. \nCheck-in begins at 11 a.m. with a noon shotgun start. The semicolon tattoo is an affirmation of strength through thoughts of suicide\, depression\, addiction\, or other mental health issues – either personal or in solidarity with others.\n\nNOTE: This event is cash-only (no card or check). DESCRIPTION:You are invited to remember and honor a loved one who has died by suicide or been impacted by suicide during Light the Night\, a community World Suicide Prevention Day memorial event. Light a candle (at home\, work\, etc.) at 8 p.m. on Saturday\, Sept. 10 to participate. You can share your candle on social media by using #lightthenight and #suicidepreventionday suicide.\n\nHaving thoughts of suicide? We are here to help. SUMMARY:Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
DESCRIPTION:LivingWorks ASIST is a two-day face-to-face workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals\, discussions\, and simulations. \nAt a LivingWorks ASIST workshop\, you’ll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs\, providing a skilled intervention\, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive. \nTwo knowledgeable\, supportive trainers will guide you through the course\, ensuring your comfort and safety. You must attend the full time to complete the course. Hours are 9:15 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day. \nNote: Funding from the East Central Region is available to help pay for the costs to attend this ASIST training.  If you would like to attend this two-day training with financial assistance\, please contact Katie Curtis (Kcurtis@foundation2.org) to complete your registration. \nREGISTER HERE

DESCRIPTION:Putts for Prevention is a walkable nine hole putt-putt golf course all throughout downtown Cedar Rapids. Nine different bars and restaurants each host their own challenging putt-putt hole. There will be raffles and prizes throughout the day.
