DESCRIPTION:At a LivingWorks ASIST workshop\, you’ll learn real-life skills to help prevent suicide by recognizing signs\, providing a skilled intervention\, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive.\n\nThis community-based training is open to everyone at least 16 years of age\, including parents\, educators\, social service providers\, etc.\n\nThe training will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. January 5 and 6 at the Downtown Cedar Rapids Public Library. Attendance is required for the entirety of both days.\n\nThis training is provided FREE of charge. DESCRIPTION:Junior League of Cedar Rapids and Foundation 2 Crisis Services are partnering to serve young people aging out of foster care during Giving Tuesday!\n\nEach year\, the Junior League of Cedar Rapids assembles and donates several dozen “Apartment in a Suitcase” bundles for young people enrolled in Foundation 2’s Fostering Futures program. This program helps young people become stable after aging out of foster care.\nThe suitcases contain basic necessities for independent living – perhaps items that a family member or loved one helped you get for your first apartment. Each suitcase is valued at approximately $700.\n\nWE NEED YOUR HELP\nJoin us between 7 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday\, Nov. 29 at Craft’d (333 1st St SE Suite 100) to “Stuff the Truck” with requested basic living supplies for the “Apartment in a Suitcase” bundles.\n\n\nPlus- Enjoy a FREE DRINK at Craft’d for donating in-kind item(s) on Giving Tuesday\, courtesy of Palmer Group.
