Access Center Crisis Counselor – Full Time Weekend Shift

Job Description:

Full-time Access Center Crisis Counselor needed to provide triage and intake services at the Linn County Access Center. This position is a Foundation 2 employee who will work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing mental health and substance use services at the Linn County Access Center.

As an Access Center Crisis Counselor you will initially meet with clients to provide required assessments, service coordination, and referrals for services at the Linn County Access Center. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, build rapport quickly with clients, manage time effectively, and work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Applicants with experience in crisis counseling, suicide risk assessment, motivational interviewing, and trauma informed care are especially encouraged to apply.

Schedule: This position is a 4 day work week, with 3 consecutive days off weekly to encourage a positive work-life balance. The usual schedule is below.

8:00am-6:00pm 8:00am-6:00pm 8:00am-6:00pm 8:00am-6:00pm

 

Benefits: We offer $15-$17 per hour in base pay depending on experience, plus $12,000 annually to put towards an a la carte benefit package and retirement match. Any funds not used for your a la carte benefits will be added to your paychecks. This position starts with over 4 weeks of paid time off.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in human service field from an accredited college.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ full-time experience working in social work or delivery of human services.
  • Experience working with adults experiencing crisis.
  • Candidates must also possess a valid driver’s license and pass all criminal and child abuse background checks.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in crisis work and serving individuals experiencing suicidal ideation.
  • Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Informed Care.
