Description:

Provides leadership for Achieving Maximum Potential (AMP), the youth driven Iowa Foster Care Youth Council (average of 10 hours per week).  As an AMP Facilitator, you will assist foster or adoption young people 13-21 years old with support, advocacy and learning opportunities. The AMP Facilitator will prepare and facilitate council meetings, link the participants with leadership opportunities, service learning projects through youth/adult community partnerships, speaking opportunities, educational/vocational experiences, and peer-to-peer support and encouragement.

Required Qualifications:

  • AA degree or equivalent in human services field or a high school/GED diploma and two year’s experience working with youth in at-risk situations.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by Foundation 2’s insurance company.
  • Applicant must pass criminal records check and child abuse registry check.
  • Proficient in word, excel and outlook for reporting and billing responsibilities.

  • Knowledge and understanding of trauma informed practices.
  • Experience working from a strengths based perspective.
  • Background that includes successfully engaging and empowering participants in voluntary programming.
  • Experience building relationships and fostering trust with community partners.
