Our dedicated school-based caseworkers can support youth at the elementary, middle and high school levels who are experiencing a mental health, behavior or substance-use related crisis. We provide support for youth, their families, school staff and more. Our teams report to partner schools, the hospital and other locations within one hour of being contacted.

Services include:

• Intervention services
• Comprehensive referral services

A school district called requesting in-person support for a student who was struggling with suicidal ideation. The student was able to speak with a counselor openly about their difficult emotions, stemming from home and create a safety plan, effectively diverting them from hospitalization.

Upon follow up with the family, the School Liaison was able to schedule the student for a J-FAST Assessment within a few days, and the student was connected with ongoing school-based therapy services. The student and family were appreciative that Mobile Crisis/J-FAST allowed them to utilize an option that did not involve sitting in the hospital waiting room for multiple hours as they had experienced in the past. In subsequent follow up with the family, we learned things were going very well and that therapy services were still in place and beneficial.
