Honor loved ones lost to suicide

On World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept. 10), we host Light the Night in Cedar Rapids and Dubuque to honor individuals who have died by suicide. This event is free and open to the public.

Losing a loved one to suicide is a uniquely difficult loss. We’re here to listen and support you. One way we do this is through Light the Night, held annually on Sept. 10. Battery-operated candles are lit in honors of individuals who have died by suicide and displayed during memorial events in Cedar Rapids and Dubuque. All are welcome to attend. The event is free.

Honor a Loved One

Submit your loved one’s name with the form below to be included in the next Light the Night. There is no charge.

If you shared your loved one’s name for Light the Night since the 2024 event, they will be included in Light the Night permanently. If you’re unsure, we encourage you to fill out the RSVP form below.

Names will be included as submitted on Light the Night luminaries. Only first names will be published on social media and other promotional materials.
