Since we began in Cedar Rapids in 1970, we have focused on crisis prevention and intervention for people of all ages. We are committed to positive youth development, suicide prevention and helping build the foundation for stronger and healthier families and safer communities for everyone.
Our services
Crisis services
Our teams provide free, 24/7 crisis support for anyone experiencing a mental health or suicide-related situation or concern.
Youth & Family Services
We offer a variety of residential and community programs that support youth and young adults in crisis.
CORES
We offer community and workplace trainings and education opportunities to further mental health care and suicide prevention efforts.
Impact
- We train 2,000+ community members annually in suicide prevention and mental health response.
- We honor 100+ people who died by suicide with their loved ones at Light the Night on World Suicide Prevention Day.
- 98% of clients who received intensive outpatient services through our CSCBS program remained in their home safely instead of going to inpatient care.
- 215 young adults who aged out of the foster care system received ongoing case management and support through our Iowa Aftercare Program.
