Capital Campaign
With your support, we’ve provided over 700 hours of training to community partners, staff and individuals committed to supporting mental health in our community. We’ve hosted youth in foster care for more than 1,400 meals during their twice-monthly support group. Dozens of young adults have used our computers, printers and business suite to apply for jobs, scholarships and school.
While we can share many numbers and statistics about the space, what we hope you feel and see in our photos is the community, connections and relationships being built here every day, both for our teams and the individuals we serve.
Our headquarters has become more than just a building. We are proud to deliver our services in a space that truly reflects who we are as an agency; welcoming, trauma-informed, resilient and accessible to all people. We are proud to deliver lifesaving services to people when life gets tough.

Stand Up for Peace
Our Group Violence Intervention team held a community meeting in honor of Gun Violence Awareness Day and honored a participant for his success.
Legacy Wall
Loved ones who have died by suicide and others tied to our mission are honored on our Legacy Wall. Recently, we honored Leland Freie, who retired after 30+ years.
Collaboration
In our new space, we have seen improved collaboration and communication between programs, increasing effectiveness and efficiency across the agency.
Light the Night
We light memorial luminaria on World Suicide Prevention Day in September. All are invited to attend the ceremony and lighting, held outside our Headquarters.
Murals of Meaning
Students with IowaBIG painted a mural on the back of the building, featuring our mission and 988. It was part of their “Murals of Meaning” project in Downtown Cedar Rapids.
Volunteering
Volunteers help throughout the year, including setting up our holiday giving tree. The tree has tags with requests for donations to help support the clients we serve.
Community
When we receive donations for our Apartment in a Suitcase program, we can sort and store them in our new building. This allows clients to easily access what they need.
Day of Caring
Volunteers with the United Way’s Day of Caring helped us set up Putts for Prevention. Our building is on the route – we enjoy inviting participants into our space to golf!
Community Trainings
We offer free suicide prevention trainings to build a safer, stronger community. This training, called ASIST, is a two-day training held in our large training room.

Legacy Wall
The Legacy Wall honors and remembers individuals who died by suicide and people connected to our mission.
Training Room
Two training rooms provide space for small and large group trainings on mental health and suicide prevention.
Calming Spaces
Spaces that support employee wellness include our Restoration Room, Mother’s Room and a gym.
Flexible Spaces
Common areas for employees provide opportunities for collaboration and flexible workspaces.
Atrium
The atrium in the center of the building retained many original elements and provides natural light.
Welcoming Spaces
The main lobby provides employee and guest access to the rest of the building, as well as our training rooms.
Client Closet
Our client closet is full of donated items for clients that need support meeting their basic needs.
