I’m in foster care

We can help you start adulthood

If you anticipate aging out of the Iowa foster care system, you may qualify for support through our Fostering Futures program. You don’t have to navigate adulthood on your own.

The Fostering Futures program includes several programs for at-risk individuals in Eastern Iowa. Part of Fostering Futures is Iowa Aftercare, a statewide program for young people aging out of foster care. Services include case management, Fostering Futures in Education, Achieving Maximum Potential and more. Services are provided in the Cedar Rapids area.

Services can begin at age 17.5 with Pre-Aftercare and last to age 23 with Extended Aftercare. Participants may enroll at any time.

This is a free, voluntary program.
