Open Letter to the
Foundation 2 Crisis Services Family
As we come together to celebrate National Human Service Worker’s Week, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each of you for the incredible work you do every day.
Your role in supporting people in need isn’t just difficult—it’s one of the most challenging jobs in the world. Day in and day out, you show up for strangers who have nowhere else to turn. You offer support, guidance and hope, even when it’s hard to find. You give not only your time and energy, but also your heart and spirit in ways that words can’t always capture.
You’ve chosen a profession that asks you to face crisis, trauma and heartache every day, and you do it for our agency and the people we serve. The things you witness—people’s pain, struggles and suffering—are not easy. You hear stories that can break hearts, and still, you respond with empathy and solutions. This takes an immense emotional toll, and I want to recognize that your work leaves lasting impressions, often more than we can acknowledge in the moment.
Many of you carry these conversations, memories and burdens quietly, always ensuring that those we serve feel seen, heard and cared for. Please know that we see you, too. We appreciate how you show up for the people you serve, and we are deeply grateful.
Your resilience does not go unnoticed. I’m in awe with the patience and dedication with which you approach your job. I see you standing up for people without a voice and treating others with dignity and respect. You help transform lives—sometimes in small, quiet ways, and other times in profound, life-altering moments. Many people in our world are alive today because of YOU and I’m so proud to work alongside each of you!
As we honor you this week, please take a moment to reflect on the incredible impact you’ve had on our community and the people we serve. Know that your work matters. You matter. And I am beyond grateful to have each of you on our team.
