The Fostering Futures program includes several programs for at-risk individuals in Eastern Iowa. Part of Fostering Futures is Iowa Aftercare, a statewide program for young people aging out of foster care. Services include case management, Fostering Futures in Education, Achieving Maximum Potential, and more. The Violence Prevention Program, called Stand Up for Peace: Group Violence Intervention, is also part of Fostering Futures. Services are provided in the Cedar Rapids area.

Iowa Aftercare Services Network
We are part of this statewide network of support for young people who have aged out of foster care. It is a voluntary, free program for young people ages 17-23.
Fostering Futures in Education
This program focuses on exploring higher education opportunities and options through mentors, workshops, tours and more.
Achieving Maximum Potential
This statewide peer council for teens who are or have been in an out-of-home placement meets twice a month. Locally, youth meet in Foundation 2’s space.

We Help
Navigating barriers to success
Young people ages 17-23 who are currently or have previously been in foster care are eligible for Aftercare, a voluntary program. Advocate help these young people navigate barriers including housing, employment and employment.
Exploring education options
The Fostering Futures in Education program helps young people explore post-secondary education and training options. Participants can explore higher education, take tours and more.
Providing basic needs
Iowa Aftercare and community partners can provide many basic needs for independent living, including a “starter kit” for apartment living.
