On-Call Mobile Crisis Outreach Counselor
Reports to: MCO Program Coordinator & Program Manager
Location: Dubuque, IA
Hours: Minimum of 12 hours (2 shifts) per week. Daily shift options are 12AM-6AM, 6AM-12PM, 12PM-6PM, and 6PM-12AM.

Overview of the role
Coordinate and respond to dispatches within Dubuque County during scheduled hours. Offer compassionate, objective, client centered counseling to individuals. Assist individuals and families with connection to local resources and community providers. Advocate for clients in navigating various social systems. Complete required documentation and maintain client files in accordance with program policies in a timely manner.
This is an on-call position that requires a minimum of 12 hours per week (two, 6-hour shifts) based on counselor availability and schedule needs.
Wages & Benefits:
- Counselors earn:
- $2.50/hour to be on-call
- $31.84/hour ($37.14/hour on holidays) per hour when dispatched for an in-person crisis counseling and completing paperwork
- $15/hour when attending meetings and trainings

What You’ll Do:

- Complete required documentation and maintain client files in accordance with program policies in a timely manner.
What you need
- Bachelor degree in a human service-related field required and one (1) or more years relevant experience.
- Comfort using basic computer software (electronic health record system)
- Basic typing and data entry skills.
- Excellent writing and grammar skills.
- Valid driver’s license and be insurable by the agency auto insurance policy.
- Pass all background checks completed by Foundation 2 Crisis Services.
- Submit copy of college degree or transcript as required by licensure for personnel file.
- Successfully complete required trainings within required time periods.
- Attend all MCO trainings within 120 days of hire (40 hours, including two (2) consecutive eight (8) hour days).
- Experience in crisis services preferred.
- Reliable cell phone service; Smart phone that utilizes the most up-to-date operating software (for Android or iPhone).
