Honor loved ones lost to suicide

On World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept. 10), we host Light the Night at our headquarters location in Downtown Cedar Rapids. It’s a way to honor individuals who have died by suicide by lighting a candle in their memory.

Each year on World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept. 10), we host Light the Night at our headquarters location, 305 2nd Ave in Downtown Cedar Rapids. Battery-operated candles are lit in honor of individuals who have died by suicide. All are welcome to attend.

2025 Event Details

7 p.m. Legacy Wall Reception

Join us for a reception honoring those remembered on our Legacy Wall. It is an opportunity to gather in reflection and support of those who have died by suicide and their loved ones. Light refreshments will be served. You’re encouraged to RSVP using the form below, but it is not required. All are welcome.

8 p.m. Luminary Lighting

Luminaries will be lit and displayed outside our building, each representing a life remembered. A brief program will follow. You’re encouraged to RSVP using the form below, but it is not required. All are welcome.

Submit your loved one’s name with the form below to be included in the next Light the Night. There is no charge.

If you shared your loved one’s name last year for Light the Night, they will be included in Light the Night permanently. If you’re unsure, we encourage you to fill out the RSVP form below.

Names will be included as submitted on Light the Night luminaries. Only first names will be published on social media and other promotional materials.
